Cancer Information

Wessex Cancer Trust provides high quality, up-to-date cancer information leaflets for cancer patients, their families and carers. All of our information is written and reviewed by specialists.

Lifestyle issues are a significant factor in determining the risk of developing cancer. The Trust promotes awareness of these risks and publishes a series of cancer information leaflets covering early warning signs, treatment and advice for patients.

There are over 60 ‘Help Yourself’ leaflets and these range from general information to dietary advice and specific cancers and treatments. Many hospitals issue Wessex Cancer Trust patient information folders to cancer patients on diagnosis. The contents of the folders are tailored for specific cancers and individual hospitals; they outline treatment, provide background information and a source of information likely to be needed by patients. The folders map out treatments and allow patients to monitor their progress.

The leaflets are free to anyone within the Wessex region (Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands) but anyone outside of the region will be charged a small amount to cover the cost of printing. This ranges from 12p upwards. We do, however, charge everyone the cost of postage and packaging which will be sent out as a separate invoice.
